How StuffRegistry works
Give better gifts.
Skip the guesswork.
Share a wishlist with your group. Pick a gift from theirs. Reserve it so nobody buys the same thing twice.
Try the demo below. No sign-in needed.
The quick version
Three steps. That’s it.
- 01
Make a wishlist.
Add what you’d love, with a photo or store link. Your group has real gift ideas to go on.
- 02
Reserve their gift.
Pick something from their list. Other shoppers see it’s covered. The recipient keeps the surprise.
- 03
Buy it. Mark it bought.
Shop at the store yourself, then update the reservation. That’s one less thing to remember.
StuffRegistry organizes the gifts. You buy them at the store.
See it happen
One gift. Zero duplicate toasters.
Try a reservation. Watch the shoppers get on the same page.

Make your list
Your wishlist
A registry is a group of people who share gift lists. Your wishlist tells them what you want or need. Add a name, photo, price, store link, and how many you need. You can fix the details when your plans change.
Adding an item asks for it. It does not buy it. You need Contributor access to add or edit items.
Find it: Home → My Items; Add Item to add a wish
Try the demo Open featureSaved for Later
Found something you like, but are not ready to ask for it? Keep it in Saved for Later. These ideas are private to you. Move one to your wishlist when you are ready for shoppers to see it.
Saved for Later is not a reservation or a purchase. Moving an item changes who can see it. Existing gift commitments can stop a move.
Find it: Home → Saved for Later
Try the demo Open featureStuff It & Smart Import
Find something in an online store? Paste its link when adding an item. Smart Import tries to bring over the name, photo, and price. On a computer, the Stuff It browser shortcut can help too. Check the details before saving.
Some stores leave out details or block imports. You can type or fix the details yourself. Phone sharing options depend on your device.
Find it: Add Item → paste a store link; Home has the desktop shortcut
Try the demo Open featureWho sees your list?
Public Wishlist holds wishes you share with your allowed shoppers across your registries. If you belong to more than one registry, you also get Local Wishlist for wishes in just the current group. Saved for Later keeps an idea private.
“Public” does not mean anyone on the internet can see it. Shoppers still need the right access. Local Wishlist appears when you belong to more than one registry.
Find it: Home → Public Wishlist, Local Wishlist when available, or Saved for Later

Shop For
Shop For shows the people in your current registry. Add someone to your shopping list, then open their wishlist. If approval is needed, send a request and wait for them to say yes. Wishlist owners can handle those requests on Home.
Some groups require approval before you can shop a list. Adding a shopper does not invite a new person into the registry. Contributor access is needed for requests and approvals.
Find it: Shop For → add a person or open their list; Home → wishlist requests
Try the demo Open featureReserve & mark bought
Before you shop, reserve an item from someone’s list. Other shoppers see that it is covered. Buy it at the store yourself, then mark it bought. Release your reservation if you cannot get it.
A reservation says you plan to help. It does not place an order or take payment. The normal gift view hides shopper details from the person getting the gift.
Find it: Shop For → open a person’s wishlist → reserve an item
Try the demo Open featureMy Shopping
My Shopping gathers the gifts you reserved for other people. Mark a gift bought after you shop, or release it if your plans change. Completed gifts have their own view, so you can see what you already handled.
StuffRegistry keeps track of your shopping. You still buy from the store. Changing a status does not buy or return an item.
Find it: My Shopping → reserved and completed gifts

List updates & reminders
In Shop For, turn on email updates for a person’s wishlist. You can also send a reminder asking them to update their list. Turn updates off when you no longer need them.
Email updates are optional. A reminder asks someone to refresh their list; it does not send them a gift. Contributor access is needed for these controls.
Find it: Shop For → a person’s Notify and Remind controls
Try the demo Open featureHome page messages
Home shows unread messages sent to you, such as wishlist reminders. Read the note, then use Mark read to clear it from your unread view. You can also see requests to shop your wishlist there.
This is the Home page inbox, not a group chat. Marking a note read does not reply to it. Approving wishlist requests needs Contributor access.
Find it: Home → unread messages and wishlist requests
Try the demo Open featureUpcoming events
Home shows upcoming events you can see, such as birthdays. Check the date and how many days are left. If an event has a linked wishlist you can access, open it to find gift ideas.
This demo shows viewing events on Home. Creating events and running the group’s calendar are outside this member tour. An event link does not bypass wishlist access rules.
Find it: Home → Upcoming events
Try the demo Open featureYour Secret Santa assignment
If your organizer adds you to a Secret Santa exchange, your card appears in Shop For. After the reveal date, see who you are buying for, the budget, and the exchange date. Open their wishlist, then mark your gift bought when you have it.
This feature appears for exchange participants. Your organizer sets up the exchange and draws names. Members use their own assignment card in Shop For.

Switch your registry
Belong to more than one registry? Use the registry name in your account menu to switch groups. Each group has its own people and shopping view. You can also find your registries in Settings.
You can switch only to registries you have joined. Switching does not invite people, create a registry, or give you more access.
Find it: Account menu → registry name; Settings → Registries
Try the demo Open featureYour profile & settings
In Settings, update your name, email, and profile photo. Choose how the site looks and your preferred language from the available options. You can also change your password and set up a passkey for signing in.
These are your own account settings. They do not change another member’s account or give you admin access. A passkey uses a supported device to help you sign in.
Find it: Account menu → Settings

Phone & app shortcuts
Open StuffRegistry on your phone, tablet, or computer. Add a shortcut to your home screen for quick access. With Contributor access, use the setup guide in Add Item to learn how to save store links from your phone.
Anyone in your group can use the phone view. Adding items and opening the Stuff It setup guide need Contributor access. Shortcut and sharing steps vary by device.
Find it: Phone browser → open StuffRegistry; Contributors → Add Item → setup guide
Try the demo Open featureAsk Me Stuff & FAQ
Use Help to ask how StuffRegistry works in your own words. Ask Me Stuff and the FAQ explain common tasks, like adding an item or reserving a gift. Come back when you need a hand.
Help explains the site. It does not change your registry role or complete a purchase. Contact support for an account problem you cannot solve.
Find it: Help in the navigation → Ask Me Stuff or FAQ

Anything else?
Is this a store?
No. StuffRegistry helps you share wishes and plan gifts. You buy from the store yourself. Reserving a gift or marking it bought does not take payment.
Who can see my wishlist?
Your allowed shoppers. “Public Wishlist” shares wishes across your registries, not with the whole internet. Local wishes stay in one registry. Saved for Later ideas are private to you.
Why can’t I add or reserve an item?
Your registry role may be Viewer, which is read-only. Ask your registry admin for Contributor access if you need to add wishes, send shopping requests, or reserve gifts. Child accounts may also have limits.
Will I see a Secret Santa card?
Only if your organizer includes you in an exchange. Look in Shop For. Your assignment appears after the reveal date. You use your own card; the organizer handles the draw.
How do I get started?
Use your group’s invitation, then sign in. Add your first wish or pick someone to shop for. Need help joining? Ask the person who invited you or contact support.
You’ve got the idea
Start with one wish.
Your people can take it from there.
